Beautiful day here in Clarksville, TN. We at T & B Automotive, 511 Kraft St, Clarksville, TN 37040, hope you'll drop in and let us check out that air conditioning for you.

Here's a good animation of a refrigerant leak and a bad compressor clutch. Hope this doesn't happen just when you need that air conditioner the most! Come let us give you a diagnostic test:

It's been awhile, hasn't it? Doesn't take long for the days to get away from you when you're busy.

We, here at T&B Automotive, 511 Kraft Street, Clarksville, TN, have been remodeling our shop interior! We knocked down a wall, painted, and repositioned our desk. Still more to do- but for now, we're at a slowing point---come in and see us!

While you're there, ask us about our new oil change special beginning May 1st.

We hope while you're making your vacation plans, you'll remember to get that vehicle tuned up before starting out on a long trip. Let us check things out for you to make sure you get there and back, safely.

Give us a call at (931) 645-9999 and schedule that servicing soon!

So you need a new engine.......

A lot of things can signal the need for a new engine; a noise on the bottom end of the engine, and using a lot of oil are two. When it's time for another engine, some people attempt to find one at a junkyard in an attempt to save money. However, this could end up costing the customer even more in the long run.

We at T & B Automotive typically choose a re-manufactured motor over a junkyard motor (where the customer is trusting the luck of the draw) in an effort to save the customer time, money and headaches.  The junkyard motor could be exactly like the one they are attempting to replace. The motor we most often recommend is a Jasper engine. Jasper offers a 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty, whereas the junkyard, more often than not, will offer a 30 day warranty on the motor alone. The customer will be charged mechanic's fees AGAIN in order to pull it out if he happens to get a lemon. This has happened too many times in our 12+ years of operation. Not our idea of a good way to save our customers time and money.

Bring your vehicle in to T & B for a check-up. We'll do what we can to save you from a costly mistake.

....But I'm broke! No worries.....

Not many people have a sizable emergency fund for car catastrophes. I've seen more than a few friends scramble to figure out what to do when their vehicle breaks down.  NAPA offers a credit card that can help. Most of us cannot afford to be without our vehicle while we save money to replace an engine or some other costly repair, especially if our commute is a long one. Hitching rides or waiting for co-workers to drive us home gets annoying, embarrassing and time consuming.

An idea would be to apply for the card, get the work done, pay the card off and store it away for another emergency. This way, you're not tying up another card, and you have the peace of mind you need that if something else should happen, you're prepared.

Any NAPA certified dealer can help you with the application process.

Hope you've had a great day. Be safe out there!

That Darn Oil Change LIght

Ding, ding...ding, ding.....  That light is doing it's thing again....every time I turn on my car, it gives me that *noise* that effectively says, "Hey, Dummy! Your oil is now sludge!"

Okay, why should I care? What can I do about it?

Did you know that if you don't change your oil BEFORE that light comes on, you are at risk for damaging your engine? The light is to warn you that you've waited too long. One of the top reasons for engine failure (translate that to mean BIG $$$$ spent on a new engine) is not taking care of this simple task in a timely fashion!

Bring your vehicle in to T& B Automotive, 511 Kraft Street, Clarksville, TN and let us help you get rid of that annoying sound! And next time, watch the little date in the window that your mechanic attaches (yes, it's there for a reason) and bring your car in when it's time.

Your engine will thank you.

Ahhhhhhh..........

Rainy day, wiper blades AND a newsflash!!!

Rainy day here in Clarksville, TN. Tim, Butch and Nick are at the shop hard at work. They'd like to take this time to remind you to change your windshield wiper blades. Sometimes we forget about them until it rains or gets messy, then it's a little late! So, why not go in today and let them perform that small service for you?!  511 Kraft Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.

NEWSFLASH!!  We are actively pursuing a workshop for ladies---educating them in minor auto repairs that they can perform themselves.  Would love your feedback about this!   What type of things would YOU like to see covered in such a workshop? We'll be out in the open at a location near you, so drop by when we get it up and running and check it out!  Our thoughts are that it would save a military wife a lot of headache while her hubby is deployed....or help a mail lady who gets frequent flat tires (we know about this one VERY personally!) We thought we'd show the ladies (and gents, we're not turning anyone away!) how to plug a tire, how to change a tire, how to check your engine fluids and replace them, how to change your oil, etc, etc.  Free!

Let us know what you'd like to see offered---we'll sure take anything under advisement!

Have a great day---and be safe out there---remember, oil on the road can be particularly slippery when it's raining.

Our First Blog

Hello, Clarksville!

T&B Automotive is very excited to be new to the blogging community. Tim, co-owner, just recently attended a NAPA Auto Care workshop in Nashville, trying to help learn how to serve our customers even more effectively. We got the idea of blogging from one of those classes and we hope we can be diligent in writing on this blog and letting you, our present or future customers, know of any new happenings at T&B.

Let us know if you read---we value your input!
